The Golden Eagle coins are minted at 22 karat purity (91.67% gold, 3% silver, 5.33% copper). It is important to note that the coins do contain a full 1/4 troy ounce of gold. The gross weight of each will be slightly higher than 1/4 oz because of the copper and silver alloy that is added.
