Since 2013, each silver Britannia bullion is minted from .999 fine silver. Earlier silver coins were .958 fineness. The coins obverse carries a likeness of Queen Elizabeth the Second. The reverse features the standing Britannia - the female personification of the British Isles used since Roman times more than 2000 years ago. The coins are denominated as £2 (2 British pounds).

The Austrian Silver Philharmonic coin in the otherhand is denominated as 1.5 Euro. They were first minted in 2008 and each contains .999 pure silver. Since their launch, they have become Europe's most popular and best known silver bullion coin.
