These Privately Minted Small Rounds Grow Increasingly Popular As Silver Prices Rise

Walking Liberty (obverse) – Between 1916 and 1947 the United States minted what is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful coin designs ever. The image of Lady Liberty graces the front of this beautifully designed fractional silver round. Originally, the Walking Liberty half dollar silver coin design was created by Adolf A. Weinman, who was also the designer of the popular Mercury Dime. The current "American Silver Eagles" have a similar design on the obverse. These privately minted one-tenth silver ounces for sale in round form are smaller and contain less silver than the U.S. Minted Walking Liberty silver half dollars, which contains 0.357 ounces of silver after factoring out the copper (which is 10% of its overall weight). However, those coin collecting and looking for something smaller in size compared to Walking Liberty Half Dollars should consider the one tenth ounce sized silver round.
