February 24, 2020 – Gold and silver prices rose to fresh new 2020 highs last week, boosted by some safe haven buying and falling bond yields.
Gold closed at $1,645, its highest level since 2013, and spiked even higher this morning on coronavirus fears.
Silver finished last week $18.56, its highest close since last September when the price was very briefly above $19/oz. Prior to the September spike, you have to go all the way back to 2016 to find silver above the current price.
